About us
How it all began!
My name is Tes Ebersohn.
The story of Brain-Building started years ago when I became a mom. Like all moms I absolutely adored my little baby and wanted to give her the world.
Before she was even born I was devouring books about what was considered normal baby development and how to support this in your baby. I watched with great interest and pride as my baby achieved important milestones.
During this journey I came across an advertisement for a book that promised to show parents how to teach little babies to read.
I was intrigued. I had a million questions. Is this even possible? Is this a good idea? Should babies even be taught to read? How will this impact on the baby in later life?

I immediately ordered the book which turned out to be more of a pamphlet than a book. It did however set me upon a long journey of learning and discovery, and eventually the creation of the Brain-Building Programme.
The journey was more exciting and difficult than I could ever have imagined.
The “book” explained that the methodology used in teaching babies to read was through the use of flashcards. I did try to implement the system with my baby but it proved to be a gruelling job that required many hours of work to prepare the words and keep track of how many times each had been seen and which one was next in the rotation. This is just not practical for a busy mom.
I was a single mom at the time and really struggled to find the time to follow the reading system while working full time and taking care of my baby. So in the end I had to drop it completely. This was something that I always regretted. It was something that I really wanted for my baby but was unable to give her.
Years later, I had the opportunity to open a preschool with a business partner, Kaylan Williams.
We were a great fit in business because we both believed that babies and very young children are capable of so much more than most people realise. We wanted our preschool to offer children more than the standard accepted norms.
When we developed our curriculum for the preschool we looked at some of most the exciting research that was being conducted around the brain development of babies and young children.
It was an exciting time. Kaylan and I discovered that between birth and around 6 years old children’s brains are developing at an astonishing rate. This is a unique window of opportunity in which children are capable of learning incredibly easily and quickly. More importantly, learning at this age actually assists in the development of the brain architecture. Children who are stimulated properly in these early years grow and retain more neural pathways than children who have not benefitted from stimulation.
As a result of this knowledge we set about developing and implementing various programmes, specifically for this purpose, in our preschool.

The results were simply beautiful. We had parents coming in to talk to us, shocked and proud at what they were seeing at home. Their children, apart from reading, were clearly displaying an awareness of the natural world around them such as being able to identify specific bird calls and plants, something that a lot of adults cannot do. Parents reported that their children had more self-confidence and a strong sense of their own ability to achieve things. Please remember that these were very little children.
We wanted to reach more children. We wanted to make it easy for parents to implement these programmes with their children, even with no knowledge of teaching and very little time to spend.
This is how the Brain-Building Programme was born. The first part of the programme is up and ready to go. We can’t say anything just yet, but there are many more modules in development and coming soon.
I would have loved to have had access to a programme like this (with all the gruelling work already done for me) when my baby was little. I believe it would have changed her life. I am sad my baby never had this, but I am so happy to be able to offer it to other children.
If you want to give your child the best possible start in life, to achieve their own fullest potential, but you do not have a lot of time this programme is perfect for you.
Join us on our mission of “Paving the neural pathways to success” and maximise your child’s brain development.
